The Imagine Science Paris festival in partnership with the IBPS

The 1st edition of the Imagine Science Paris held from 2 to 4 June 2016 met a great success from the public who discovered around thirty short and full-length films relating to art and science. This program was accompanied by several performances, conferences and retrospectives. Partner of the event, the Institut de Biologie Paris-Seine has welcomed part of the festival.

« Driven by the thematic richness and the visual and cinematographic innovation of French artists and scientists, the festival blurs the border between art and science. » explains Alexis Gambis, organizer of the event. A selection of movies has then been presented in different places in Paris, including the Jussieu Campus, via the IBPS.

Our campus has indeed welcomed the short films program « Laboratory Studies », focused on scientific discovery and the research community. Attended by a hundred people, the projection was followed by a discussion with some of the directors.

At the end of the festival, three prizes were awarded:

  • The Scientific Merit Award to Charlotte Arène, for « Physique et caféine »;
  • The Visual Science Award to Antoine Delach, for « Ghost Cell »;
  • The Special Award to William Laboury, for « Hotaru ».

The 2nd edition of the event is already underway. More information on the festival at: Imagine Science Paris festival.
