The Crystal Medals are awarded each year by the CNRS to women and men, research support staff, who through their creativity, technical mastery and sense of innovation, contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the excellence of French research.

This year the Crystal Medal of the Paris-Centre Delegation is awarded to Jean-François Gilles of the Cellular Imaging Platform of the IBPS. This distinction rewards his work on the development of a " Distance analysis (DiAna) " plugin for the ImageJ software dedicated to image processing and analysis for biomedical research.
